Cinnamon and Coconut Oil Creamed Coffee

I don’t know about you but I thoroughly enjoy starting my day off with a nice warm cup of coffee. In my journey to make healthier substitutions I discovered that you can use coconut oil to cream your coffee, say what! This seemed like a very strange concept at first but since I have tried it I am hooked and I think you will be too.

I am not brand friendly to any particular brand of coconut oil, basically I look for organic, virgin, and unrefined. Coconut oil is a healthy fat that will give you an increase in energy and provide greater satiety as well maintain a healthy weight. You will also notice I have replaced regular refined sugar for coconut sugar. Coconut sugar is a natural sweetener and any time you can replace refined sugar with a naturally occurring version you absolutely should. Some of my favorite natural sweeteners are 100% pure maple syrup, honey, and coconut sugar.

Making coconut oil creamed coffee is not time consuming at all but you will need a high speed blender as this is what creates that awesome foamy latte look and fully incorporates your ingredients. I use the Nutri Ninja (linked below). I have used this blender for several years now and I think it is just amazing. I use it for smoothies, salad dressings and of course my coconut oil creamed coffee.

You will just need to add a cup of your freshly brewed coffee, coconut oil, coconut sugar, and cinnamon to the blender and blend for a few seconds. The result is a rich foamy coffee full of healthy fats that will help you get your day started off just right. For all my coffee lovers with a desire to make healthier choices this is just what you have been searching for 🙂
